VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE WEATHER STATION

INSIDE THE STATION OFFICE

The weather station benefits from having its own office in Pitsford Hall with immediate access to the external weather instruments. From here the weather station performs its task of daily climatological monitoring, weather forecasting for the local area as well as publication of the monthly weather report. The office is networked with computer systems running the automatic weather station as well as the Boltek lightning detection system. There is also an archive of weather data from both Pitsford Hall as well as other stations around the county dating from 1880. Click on the images above to access information about specific instruments.
