GENERAL SITUATION ACROSS THE UK

With the persistent area of low pressure to the north having now largely filled, high pressure is nudging in across the southern half of the UK. However, a large low developing south of Iceland will still drive frontal systems across the north and west of the British Isles over the next few days.

FORECAST FOR NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

We are looking at a reasonable start to the day across the county with some sunshine and a mainly light west or south-westerly breeze. Outbreaks of rain are working across Wales at the moment and some of this could spill over into the county during the course of the afternoon. However, there is every possibility that the afternoon here could be nothing more than rather cloudy with one or two very light showers. Temperatures today will climb to around 15C falling overnight to 9C; the risk of showers quickly evaporating this evening.

OUTLOOK

Much of Saturday is set to be quite a reasonable day for this region. It will certainly be dry through the morning with plenty of sunshine, although we could be troubled by a developing low over France which is set to drive northwards during the afternoon introducing some showers. However, it is likely that areas further west across Northamptonshire will stay dry. Winds will remain very light and variable. Despite the threat of rain, it will be a warm day with highs climbing to 19C falling overnight to 8C. As for Sunday, it is likely to be fine albeit rather cloudy. Again temperatures will climb to 19C. Another warm day will follow on Monday, although again some showers may move up from the south later - but probably not until late evening. Highs of 20C.
