  JANUARY .          
                       
         A very cold month, with snow on many days. On 29th Maximum  
         only reached 24.0 the coldest day tempersture since 16/1/26. Severe  
         frost with heavy snow on 28th. Fog on l9th, 20th and 25th. Rainfall  
         0.20" below average Northampton and 0.27" above Peterborough. Max.  
         Temp. 58.0 General Hospital. Min. Temp. 8.0 Duston. Highest Rainfall  
         in 24 hours 0.57" on 7th Tichmarsh and Wellingborough.    
                       
         FEBRUARY .            
                       
         A bitter cold month, with heavy snow at times. 28 nights at or below  
         32. Fog on 9th, 24th and 25th. Rainfall 0.81" above average Northamp-  
         ton and 0.44" above Peterborough. Max. Temp. 43.0 on 27th Berrywood  
         Min. Temp. 1.0 on 24th Ravensthorpe. Rain 0.70" on 3rd Northampton  
                       
   MARCH.            
               
         Bitterly cold with heavy snow early part of month. Severe blizzard  
         on 5th causing huge drifts of snow, blocking most roads to out-lying  
         districts. On night of Sunday 16th a severe S.W. Gale, causing much  
         damage to trees and property. Milder weather from the 15th to end of  
         month, with rain on every day. Rainfall 4.15" above average North-  
         ampton and 3.54" above Peterborough. Max. Temp. 60.0" on 29th  
         Althorpe. Min. Temp. 10.0 on 7th Ravensthorpe. Rain 1.52" on 6th  
         Althorp.            
               
         APRIL.            
                       
         Very unsettled an stormy. S.W. Gale and heavy rain on 5th.    
         W. Gale on 6th. Fine spell from 9th to 18th with maximum reaching  
         70.0 on 16th. S.W. Gale with heavy rain and hail storm on 23rd.  
         Rainfall 0.05" above average Northampton. 0.47" above Peterborough.  
         Max. Temp. 71.0 on 16th Althorp. Min. Temp. 29.0 on 5th Duston and  
         Althorp. Rain 0.64" Grimsbury on 23rd.        
                       
         MAY.            
                       
         Unsettled first part of month, with rain on 13 days out of 16. Then  
         fine and warm, becoming very warm on last few days, maximum reaching  
         86.5 on 31st. Rainfall 0.61" below average for month and 5.20" above  
         average for 5 months at Northampton. At Peterborough 0.92" below for  
         month and 3 09@ above for 5 mont,hs. Max. 88-0 on 17th General Hos-  
         pital. Min. 36.0 on 5th Duston. Rain 0.40" on 23rd Tichmarsh.    
                       
         JUNE.            
                       
         Very hot beginning of month, with Maximum 90.0 on 1st and 3rd.  
         Rest of month very mixed with a few really nice days. Thunderstorm  
         afternoon of 27th. Rainfall 0.67" below for month Northampton and  
         1.36" above Peterborough. Max. 91.0 on 2nd Althorp. Min. 38.0 on  
         16th Althorp. Rain 0.77" on 30th Peterborough.      
                       
         JULY.            
                       
         Altogether a pleasing month with several perfect summer days.  
         Thunder on 9th, 14th, l9th and 28th, the latter lasting several hours.  
         Rainfall 0.17" above average Northampton and 0.45" below Peterborough.  
         Max. 91.0 on 27th Althorp. Min. 44.0 on 12th Althorp. Rain 1.03" on  
         19th Tichmarsh.            
               
         AUGUST.            
                       
         A glorious Mummer mont,h with rain on ůml@v 3 (la@-@. No thunder.  
         Rainfall 2.21" below average for month and 1.84" above for 8 months.  
         At Peterborough rainfall 2.37" below for month and  1.63" above for 8  
         months. Max. 89.0 on l6th General Hospital. Min. 40.0 on 8th Althorp.  
         Rain 0.27" on 3rd Braunston.        
                       
         SEPTEMBER.            
               
         Fine  and warm first part of month, dull and unsettled later. Rainfall  
         0.37" below average at Northampton and 1.03" below at Peterborough.  
         Max. 81.0 on lst Althorp. Min. 32.0 on 30th Althorp. Rain 0.41" on  
         21st Althorp            
               
         OCTOBER .            
                       
         Fine first half of month, then colder but with very little rain. Fog on  
         21st and 24th. Rainfall again well below the average, being 2.10" below  
         at Peterborough. Max. 70.0 on 4th and 5th General Hospital. Min.  
         27.0 on 21st Ravensthorpe. Rain 0.19" on 23rd Grimsbury.    
                       
         NOVEMBER.            
                       
         A very changeable month, some days very mild and others very cold.  
         Severe frost 29th and 30th. Fog on 5th, 6th, 7th and 30th. W. Gale  
         night of 11th. At Northampton rainfall 0.63" below average for month  
         and 1.22" below for 11 months. At Peterborough 0.83" below for month  
         and 2.33" below for 11 months. Max. 64.0 on 22nd Northampton. Min.  
         24.0  on 28th Duston. Rain 0.38 on 18th Northampton.    
                       
         DECEMBER.            
                       
         A dull wet month with very few really nice days. Rather cold    
         towards end of month, with snow on 29th and 30th. Fog on 4th and 10th.  
         Rainfall at Northampton 0.16" above average for month and 1.06" below  
         average for year. At Peterborough 0.18" below for month and 2.51"  
         below for year. Max. Temp. 58.0 on 27th Althorp. Min. Temp. 18.0  
         on 1st Duston. Rainfall 0.55" on 5th Tichmarsh.
